Ocean House is a spectacular rebuild of the former Walburne Hotel and today enjoys a historic landmark designation. From the outside, the property retains many of the beloved design details of Miami’s art deco past. On the inside and facing the beach, the blending of past, present and future comes into stunning focus, with opulent pool deck, cabanas and full beachfront luxury amenities. Originally built in 1946, the Walburne resembled a 1950’s oceanliner, with rows of windows and an elevated back. It was a typical example of MiMo (Miami Modern) architecture, influenced by the Art Deco and Streamline Modern periods.
